Abstract

In order to create natural eye movement and expression, a novel approach was presented. In this method, for a smooth effect, the 3D grid region of the eyelids was divided into two parts: the boundary points and the non-boundary points. The boundary points are controlled by Oscillating Guard Bar Mechanism, which affect the non-boundary points by RBF (radial basis function) deformation. Besides, other regions of eyes such as eyebrows, forehead are controlled by muscle model and ocular movement by forward kinematics. Experiments show that the approach proposed can well produce a simulation of eye movement and expression with more realistic effect.
